How to Spend Half a Day in Seattle
How to Spend Half a Day in Seattle
We had the pleasure of making a pit stop in Seattle on our most recent van trip. We fell in love. We had heard mixed reviews about the city so we truly didn't know what to expect. We are already planning our next trip back since we were only there for a half day and missed SO much! The city was so fun to walk around and explore. You could tell there were locals everywhere just sitting around throughout the parks, and other random seating throughout the city. It was clean in our opinion, and we felt safe the entire time. As we plan our next trip back make sure to reach out with all of your recommendations! There is so much to see and do so it is definitely hard to decide how to spend your days.
Pike Place Market

We did arrive late afternoon on a Saturday which made for a very busy experience. We of course saw the famous Pike Place Fish Market, and Gum Wall. All of the recommended restaurants including Pike Place Chowder, Piroshky Piroshky, and original Starbucks had lines that would be at least an hour before getting inside. We opted out and instead just walked around to experience Pike Place Market. If you do arrive on a weekend day like us it is recommended you arrive bright and early to snag your place in line. Next time we visit we will try to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds!

Space Needle

Again we heard contradicting things about whether or not to visit the Space Needle. We are SO happy we did. For starters for a tourist attraction it was hands down the cleanest experience we have ever had. You must wear masks, no talking in the elevators, hand sanitizer throughout. We felt very safe the entire time. The first stop takes you all the way to the top where you will be greeted with views of the entire city. Make sure to look for the photographer, and selfie cam as these are FREE with your ticket purchase. How cool is that?! The next floor is a revolving glass floor where not only are their views from the window but also at your feet! Such a unique and different experience! If you have time grab some drinks and appetizers at the Loupe Lounge for amazing views!
Dinner Time

As we mentioned we only had a half day here so we visited the two attractions Pike Place Market, and the Space Needle and just enjoyed walking around the city mostly. A lot of restaurants had LONG waits so be prepared to make reservations for dinner. We happened to stumble upon Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge while walking and we were greeted with a unique experience, and amazing food/drinks! We ordered a bunch of small plates including the Fried Brussel Sprouts, Cajun Meatloaf Sliders, Bakery Baguette, and the Shrimp New Orleans Style. These were all filled with spice so if you are sensitive make sure to ask your waiter or waitress for other options. Each dish was scrumptious!
