5 ReSONS TO vISIT lAKE tAHOE
We live in Reno, NV which is just a hop skip and a jump away from the beautiful Lake Tahoe. Since we live so close we have had the opportunity to explore many of the gems located around the lake. Not only does Lake Tahoe known for its beauty is is also known as the largest Alpine lake in North America, and the second deepest lake in the United States!
It is the Perfect Destination Anytime of Year

Seriously, no matter when you end up at Lake Tahoe you will be greeted with serene beauty, and entertainment. Skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking, swimming, casinos, night life, great restaurants, and cute endearing shops. Another random fact if you are here in the colder months you will notice Lake Tahoe is not frozen. The main body of Lake Tahoe does not freeze. The stored heat in the Lake’s massive amount of water compared to its relative surface area prevents the Lake from reaching freezing temperature under the prevailing climatic conditions
Tip: Bring your sunscreen! You will get burnt even in winter months. The higher altitude mixed with bright sunshine will not be your friend without protection.
The Food

If you haven't learned from our other blog posts food always comes up. We love to eat and enjoy enhancing our pallets on vacations, and date nights.
Here is a list of our favorite restaurants around the Lake.
-Mofo's Pizza
-T's Mesquite Rotisserie (only accept cash so be prepared)
-Susie Scoops (opt for the local made flavors)
-Gar Woods (try the famous Wet Woody)
-Sprouts Café
Tip: Tahoe is a popular destination so make sure to call ahead and see if the restaurant allows for reservations.
It is Absolutely BEAUTIFUL

It absolutely does not matter what part of the lake you end up staying in, it will leave you with the perfect backdrop. I swear it doesn't even look real sometimes. The bright colors the lake provides, along with the tall trees and mountainous terrain you won't be able to stop taking pictures. Make sure you if weather, and time of year allows you are taking a hike and breathing in that fresh air.
Tip: Hike up to Marlette Lake where you will be greeted with a different perspective of Lake Tahoe, along with the opportunity to visit another lake high in the mountains.
Sunset Dinner Cruise

For those that have had the opportunity to dip your toes in the water you quickly realized how cold the water is. With this being said a great way to experience Lake Tahoe in it's integrity is to explore by boat. If you are like us we do not own a boat and renting one is out of the budget so opt for a sunset dinner cruise. You will be greeted with the views of the famous vibrant blue /green water, beautiful sunset, drinks, local cuisine, and dancing to the live music. Zephyr Cove is the sunset dinner cruise we are familiar with.
Tip: Click picture above and purchase your tickets in advance as spots are limited and they will fill up fast! Especially in summer!
